www.safestreet.info has gained worldwide praise from flash and web experts by picking up recognition through the highly acclaimed DopeAwards.com. Sitting proudly alongside 'Cartoon Network', 'The Fantastic Mr Fox' and other leading industry websites, the exciting, fun and interactive website was created in collaboration with West Midlands Police to teach children the effects of antisocial behaviour and safety.
The flash based site reflects an everyday 'real life' street which children can easily relate too. Children can create their own avatar, explore, play interactive games and learn keen messages such as stranger danger, effects of hoax phone calls, safety at home, security, littering, graffiti and peer pressure but in fun and engaging way.
To further promote the site 'copper style top trump cards' were develop which were distributed by the Police in key target areas in the West Midlands.
Aneka Anderson, West Midlands Police Communications Manager, "The Safe Street website is a bespoke site which allows us to promote safety and citizenship messages to parents, teachers and partners and to engage with children within schools. We have delivered an impactful, creative, interactive and educational site."
David Hunt, Creative Lynx Digital Director, is particularly pleased with the success of the project. "Safe Street has already been well received by children, parents and schools in the West Midlands area.
